  2. WARPLANES WINDOWS:  INSTALLATION
  3.  
  4. Warplanes will run directly off CD-ROM, however performance will
  5. be considerably enhanced if the application is copied onto hard 
  6. disc (it occupies less than 1 megabyte).

  8. Warplanes may be installed simply by clicking on the Install.exe
  9. file in the File Manager display. 
  10.  
  11. Alternatively, to install Warplanes using the Program manager,
  12. open the Program Manager window, click File to display the File 
  13. menu, and then click Run. In the Command Line box, type the drive 
  14. letter for your CD-ROM drive, a colon, a backslash, and the word 
  15. INSTALL (for example, type d:\install).  Click OK or press enter.

  17. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

  19. Warplanes uses Apple's QuickTime technology to display pictures 
  20. and video.  There are some incompatibilities with certain 
  21. graphics cards.  It is essential to use the latest drivers for 
  22. graphics cards.  Incompatibilities may occur if you use generic 
  23. Windows video drivers instead of the specific driver for your 
  24. graphics card.

  26. Warplanes will use the QuickTime files in the QTWIN directory on 
  27. the CD-ROM. Optionally you can click a button in the installer 
  28. to copy the sub-directory QTWIN from the CD-ROM into the 
  29. Warplanes directory on your hard disc.  This may improve the 
  30. performance of QuickTime routines.  QuickTime 1.1.1 for Windows 
  31. is the latest version at the time of writing.

  33. When a flight simulator is selected, from either the Navigator
  34. screen or from their respective hot spots on the airfields, 
  35. there is a delay while the flight simulator is loaded.  
  36. Quitting the flight simulator by means of the escape key returns 
  37. you to Warplanes.

  39. Warplanes requires a display adaptor set to 256 colors.
